Hello Hello!!
Head to your bookshelf or second hand shop and find yourself some old pages of a good book or two! Cut them up and use them on your layouts this week!
I
am so loving using a bit of mixed media this week - mixing traditional scrap supplies with stuff laying around my studio! I recently picked up some really old copies of Sense and Sensibility, and Whithering Heights - from a church book sale for 50 cents each - with the only purpose being I planned to use them for scrapping (I did buy a stack of books to read to0 and am slowing getting through my pile) anyway, I am really loving cutting these old pages up and making hearts and flowers and clouds or using the pages for part of title or journaling (playing on the typed words of the page) *need to be clear here - that I am unsure of the acid free factor of the books - but as you have seen in many of my pages - I do think of the acid free factor at all when I scrap - I am about the playing and creating.
So with the Sweet Beauty page - it is all fancy pants - the felt, the paper, just loving the texture of it all.
And with the May You page - I have used the KI Memories La Di Dah range - again loving the texture - the background was made from the lid of a pizza box that a kit came in from Shop and Crop and is one of my DT project uploads from last week. I simply trimmed the box to 12x12 and ripped the sides a bit and swiped with paint. Very chunky and nice - I loved it so much that I have hung it in my studio.
so, while I am sharing my Dt Upload - here is the other one too - last week's theme was "Inspiration from Music" so mine were the words of Bob Dylan's "Forever Young" and the other is the title of our favourite High School Musical Song!!
Over the weekend - my camera got a bit of a workout - I took the big girls out Saturday afternoon in our search of
"Walls" (thanks Mandy too - haven't forgotten about the skate park - will get there one day :) We discovered that the best place for a heap of different walls - is funnily enough not far from up - Kotara Homemakers centre (where Bunnings is) we found purple, red, burgundy,
yellow, white, blue and could of done a lot more - each shop is different colour - it was brilliant - I really needed some new pics of Lolly - who is very self-conscious now and not too keen for photos (she is almost a teenager!!) I am so happy with what I got of her - she is so beautiful but just can not see it herself - when I showed her the pictures she was like "Oh! I don't look too bad in these!" she even let me do her hair and apply a little mascara - her lashes are so light they are hard to see - it really opened her eyes right up. Tbird posed and had us in stitches with her silliness - was nice couple of hours!
And my stampin up party was great too - thank you to Karen Egan - our demonstrator extraordinaire - we did "polished stone" - a very cool technique! and thanks to the girls who came - especially with the mini cheesecakes and slices - Man of the house has had yummy morning tea's this week!

I will leave you with a couple of more picks - first is Lucy Lou - straight from the Doggy Hairdresser on Friday - she always comes home with a little bow (that last's all of 10 minutes!) and Milly - at the Wallsend Winter Fair on Sunday morning - she now wants to be fairy face painter when she grows up!
Live it! Love it! Create it! JEN xoxo
[edited to add..] I have two classes this week at Shop and Crop both have a couple spots free - so if want to come and play for a couple of hours on Thursday, here is one of the two layouts we are creating...
And on Friday we will be creating a layout using Little yellow bicycle and then cropping on till late....
Contact the store to book in! We'd loved to see some new faces!
I have a few layouts sitting here that I haven't uploaded - will try and call in again soon and post them!

Hi Jen,
I just love your layouts. They are beautiful
Cheers

Hi Jen, beautiful beautiful work, as always. I just love how you use colour!
Also wanted to say how incredibly stunning your two big girls are!! You have some beautiful photos here, and I really pray that Lolly soon realises the blossom she has grown into, and how special she is. You are very blessed.
God bless you all,
Nat :)

Thanks for tip about more walls! Lolly looks so different with her hair pulled back- more grown-up & just lovely. And that b/w photo of her looking up has the BEST natural smile I've seen in a photo of her for ages! She's a gorgeous kid (& T-Bird too, of course). Love the new layouts- always so much inspiration- thanks. Must admit, though,I'd feel better about ripping up old Mills & Boon paperbacks, than old 'Classic' novels LOL.

I can't believe you cut up "Wuthering Heights" (not withering) and "Sense and Sensiblity"... that is worse than cutting up a bible in my world!!
